Two sides of a coin

Love the Tibetan symbolism and what it stands for.
Hope to learn a bit more about it the upcoming week when Sogyal Rinpoche wil teach in Amsterdam.
The Ghanta & Vajra on this customer represent the male(scepter) and female(bell) principle.

The bats probably come from chinese symbolism where they mean good luck.

Fat Buddha?

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

The man pictured in these tattoos is,on the contrary of popular belief, not the Buddha.

He was a Chinese man called Hotai or pootai who had found the Buddha in himself and wandered the chinese landscape.

He is one of the seven housegods in Japan, and is consisered to bring fortune and happiness and is often seen with money or playing with children..

Again a tattoo of a “Phurba” or a  Tibetan ritual dagger…

There’s one more on this site, On the forearm of singer/actor Jake la Botz

He’s a student of Tibetan Buddhism (lineage of Chogyam Trungpa)

And he told me it cuts through Passion, aggression and ignorance…
